Ode to a pacifier
Biting, munching, sucking, chewing
always soothing
though small, you are sturdy and hold up well
even when my little one starts to yell
taking my place to soothe and quiet
so I am not the only diet
pacifier, pacifier without you I'd be lost
we will not lose you at any cost
and when my little one has grown too tall
I'll hang you on my tree to recall
that happy, busy, crazy season
of pacifiers, diapers, and two-year-old reason.

So cute! My daughter had a pacifier...such a life saver! But my son never took one...we wish he would have. :)

ReplyDeleteLol! Line 6 is the best. ;-) I know that feeling! (Lucy refused to take one by about 8 months, so I WAS her only pacifier. x-p)
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more! My 5-month-old loves her paci, as did her older brother, LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteLoved it. My 2 yo is a paci addict. It is so nice when I can use it to calm her down, but not so nice when she is screaming for one in the car and I can't reach it :)
